Starting a home bar is intimidating

So why do it?

If you don't have any idea where to start on your home bar, you might feel like you shouldn't bother. After all, aren't there a ton of places in Somerville to have a drink? Why not go out? Here's a few things to think about.

No dress code
What's more comfortable: t-shirt and jeans OR tucked in button down shirt?

It's happy hour all the time
Boston doesn't allow for drink discounts at bars, but you can give yourself a pretty great deal by purchasing all the raw materials at cost.

Less noisy and crowded
It's fun to hang with friends, even moreso when you can hear what they're saying. Plus you don't have to worry about some guy taking your seat. Unless your friends do that sort of thing. Damnit, Steve!

No transportation woes
Best of all, at the end of the night you don't have to chase down a cab or wait for your Uber driver to figure out what street corner you're standing on. You just fall over into bed and call it a night.
